Mini Spare Grip Tape: Unicorn
Removing and applying the grip tape
-Put scooter on bench or table so that you can work at a comfortable height
-Wearing protective gloves, take a hair dryer / heat gun and gently apply continual warm heat to the existing deck grip. Start to peel at the corners taking care that the deck is not too hot. It should be gently heated to release the adhesive. You may find an ice scraper useful to help gently lift the tape
-If the tape cools, gently re apply heat to loosen the griptape and slowly peel the old design off
-The old grip tape if removed slowly should come off in one piece
- With a clean damp cotton based cloth clean and the dry the deck to remove any dirt or residue. Some adhesive may remain which can usually be covered by your new deck tape. Ideally you just need a smooth and clean surface to lay the new grip tape onto.
-Turn your new grip tape design over and apply heat until the grip becomes warm and maliable ( 30 secs - 1 min ) gentle heating works best. The grip should not be over heated.
-Peel the backing off and immediately apply to the deck ( you will be able to quickly manoeuvrer into place ) using a dry cloth to push the deck tape smoothly into position and avoid air bubbles
-Once you are happy with the position of your new grip gently apply further heat over the top of the griptape and using a dry cloth rub over the griptape to ensure a secure adhesion
-Your new scooter deck design is completed
